Vegan Yogurt Brands – Don’t Give Up Yogurt Now That You Are Vegan
Yogurt has been a household favorite for many years. There is no reason why you should have to give it up when you switch to a vegan lifestyle.
Let’s talk about first what yogurt is?
Yogurt is a fermented milk product typically made with cows milk, bacteria cultures, and other dairy ingredients such as cream and dry milk to adjust the composition.
In case you didn’t know, the dairy industry is undeniably cruel. Female cows younger than a year old are forcibly impregnated over and over again throughout their short lives.
In order to collect the dairy from the cows, one must remove their newborn calves so they don’t drink the milk. This is very traumatizing for the mothers. Many undercover surveillance videos have shown mother cows bellowing for their young and chasing after them as they are taken away.
In addition to all of that cruelty, consuming dairy-based yogurt is also destroying the health of many individuals around the world due to the disturbing amounts of pus, antibiotics, hormones, and blood in milk products.
In fact casein, one of the main proteins in dairy, which is very toxic for humans to consume. It leads to a host of problems such as eczema, acne, kidney disease, asthma, irritable bowels, colitis, and cancer.
Luckily, those who love yogurt and used to have it for breakfast, snacks, and desserts don’t have to give it up now that vegan yogurt has become more available among our grocery stores.
