5 Vegan Sunscreen Brands

Summer is here and depending on where you live, you might already be experiencing summer weather. It’s so nice spending a day in the sun, at the beach, or even just in your backyard or going for a walk.

We all know it’s important to wear sunscreen to protect our skin from harmful UV rays. However, many people just grab whatever sunscreen they see at the store without thinking twice.

This is bad for 2 reasons – firstly, many sunscreens contain dangerous ingredients that your skin soaks up. These harmful ingredients go straight into your bloodstream.

Secondly, most conventional sunscreens are tested on animals. This process consists of the product being forcibly applied to the skin, eyes, and even mouths of animals such as rabbits and mice.

If the animals don’t die during the testing process, they are usually killed anyways so that their organs can be examined for any effects that the sunscreen caused.

Some people might argue that we need to test products like sunscreen on animals to ensure that they are safe for humans to use. But I think the ultimate question is, why are we including dangerous ingredients in sunscreen in the first place?

If you have to ask the question “is this ingredient going to cause harm to my skin?” chances are, it isn’t good for you.

The best option is to make sunscreens with natural ingredients in the first place, ones that come from the earth and aren’t chemicals or man-made.

Thankfully, there are many cruelty-free and vegan sunscreens on the market today. You don’t need to go to any specialty stores to buy them either. Many of them can be found on Amazon or in your local supermarkets.

You just need to make sure to look for the bunny logo which states that the product is cruelty-free.

Here are 5 cruelty-free & vegan sunscreen options that actually work!

There are definitely many more vegan sunscreen brands out there, so if you have another brand recommendation please let me know in the comments.
