What is Furikake?
Furikake is a Japanese seasoning. It is sweet, salty, and savory.
They say it’s “Rice’s Best Friend.”
Here is the brand you can order:

When adding Furikake to a recipe, be sure not to add more than required. It can be VERY salty.
Ingredients you will need for this recipe:
- 3 cups Rice Puffs
- 1 cup Trail Mix
- ½ cup Almond Butter
- ½ cup Corn Syrup
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp Furikake
FYI – Not all Trail Mix is Vegan. The chocolate in some of them contains milk.

Furikake Rice Bars
Ingredients
- 3 cups Rice Puffs
- 1 cup Trail Mix
- ½ cup Almond Butter
- ½ cup Corn Syrup
- 2 tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 tbsp Furikake
Instructions
- Line an 8”x8” pan with parchment and brush lightly with oil.
- Toss together rice puffs, trail mix, and furikake in a large bowl.
- Combine almond butter, corn syrup, and coconut oil in a small pot. Set over medium heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Pour syrup over rice mixture. Toss well.
- Pack the mixture tightly into the prepared pan.
- Chill for at least an hour.
- Cut into serving-sized squares.
