Megan’s Story
My name is Megan Alpha and I am a 22-year-old Vegan who is committed to living the Vegan lifestyle.
I made the decision to go Vegan back in August of 2014 when my mom and I were on a family vacation in New Hampshire. We had just got done eating dinner and something weird occurred to me.
People were devouring their meals and commenting openly about how amazing the lobster tasted, the fish, the beef and for some reason I became disgusted. Literally sick to my stomach.
That night my mom and I started to research how lobsters were caught and killed which horrified me. I had no idea their entire body was made up of nerves and they could feel everything.
I thought to myself how selfish I was for killing a living being just to satisfy my taste buds.
That thought led me to research and start watching videos on the process of how chickens, cows, lambs, fish, pigs, ducks, buffalo, calves, and the egg industry made it to our dinner plates.
I was horrified.
I realized at that very moment I could no longer participate in such cruelty to animals.
I went VEGAN cold turkey with my mother. I will admit it did take a month or so to really educated myself on what is veganism, and how it is deeper than just the food we eat.
Now being Vegan is easy for me. It’s not only about what I put in my body but looking at how animals are treated in general.
It’s not about being Vegan for me, it’s a lifestyle.
My goal and mission are to inspire and educate young and old on how to become Vegan and how to deal with the issues that arise from being Vegan. Such as what to eat when one goes out, how to deal with unsporting family members, how to respond to questions people ask about being Vegan, and much much more…___________________________
Kayla’s Story
Hi! I’m Kayla Jo.
I’m most known for my kind heart, big smile, and an unquenchable desire to save animals.
I started working at a veterinary hospital at the age of 15. And, graduated from college as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2014.
I was on a mission to save animals and have even traveled to South Africa. My main focus was on pets and wildlife.
I loved animals since I was a young girl but I didn’t make the connection that my food choices played such a dramatic role for ALL animals until a few years ago.
A friend of mine, that I really respected, recommended I watch the documentary – What The Health.
I was disgusted. I tried to go Vegan “Cold Turkey” – but failed after a few days… I was disappointed in myself. I felt alone on this journey.
That’s when I started to try to switch gradually.
After many months of immersing myself in vegan content & education (like My Vegan Dreams) and gradually eliminating animal products, I did it and went 100% VEGAN!
I’ve been Vegan for over 3 years and it’s my mission to help people see that they CAN go vegan and help them along their journey.
2 Years ago, I founded Orlando Farm Rescue to rescue farm animals.
And, now I’m working alongside my Bestie, Megan here at My Vegan Dreams. 🙂
My goal is to be your Vegan Friend and help YOU on your Vegan Journey.
